A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything – or destroy it!
James 3:5 (The Message)
The unexamined life is not worth living.
Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.
Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.
The whole person, with all his senses, with both mind and body, needs to be involved in genuine worship.
Without worship, we go about miserable.

Having a great marriage isn’t rocket science. It’s simply a choice.
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
So the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland voted to leave the EU. The country of my birth, my nest, my home, feels alien and unwelcoming.
I’m deeply disappointed and shocked. I feel cast adrift. I have all of these half-questions about identity and belonging, community and inclusion running through my head. It’s hard to make sense of it all.
This song, which is so popular right now, speaks to the soul of me. Today, I am blessed enough to be working from home in the morning. Newly back at work after 9 months on maternity leave, I am so very very grateful to not have to rush out with my son and drop him off at my mum’s. It’s so energy sapping speed walking that pram up that hill, and it’s chucking buckets down. Thank you God that today I’ve had a reprieve!!
